Let us discuss the basics of starting a blog using Google's Blogger platform. This will start from creating a blog to posting your very first post on your blog. Let us keep this simple since I don't have much time anymore. Before we start everything else, you must first register a Google Account and use this account to log in to Blogger. Now that you have your account, I will first lay down some important safety measures.

1. Do not give your password to anyone.

2. As much as possible, try to avoid logging in to some public computers.

3. Do not post too much personal information on the internet, remember everything that you post in your blog is viewable to everyone. This will be further discussed in another topic.

4. Make sure that you won't give out even little clues to people. This might cause a big trouble to you.

5. If you are too young for this activity, please have you parents or elderly people whom you can trust to assist you.

Please try to keep your personal information away from the internet. And always remember to ask permission to your parents if you think you are not old enough.

Step 1



Log in at Blogger and you will then be redirected to your dashboard.

Step 2



First of all type in your blog title, this will be the name of your blog.
Secondly, type your blog address (URL) this is what you type on the address bar to go to a site e.g. http://fhelzone.blogspot.com
Lastly, type in the word verification.

Step 3



Review the information that you have encoded, and then if your satisfied click on the continue button below.

Step 4



Then you will be given some layouts that you could choose from, these are the default blogger templates. I will discuss more about layouts and advanced layout configuration on another topic. But I will recommend BTemplates as a good source of some templates for your Blogger blog.

Click on the continue button again. If the message above appears, then you have successfully created your blog.

Step 6



Click on the start blogging button to make the very first topic on you blog.

It would appear like this after clicking the start blogging, if I could have some time, I would create a very easy tutorial that would do for those who are very slow learners.

The save now will save you post and won't display it on your blog. But the publish post button will display your post on you blog and would be available to all your readers and visitors.

If you see the message above then you have successfully published your post.

Step 10



This would be the result of publishing your post, so always review and be careful before you publish a certain post. Once it has been published people could immediately see it. But don't worry you have the capabilities to delete it too.
